I graduated from the Department of Life Sciences of NCHU. My hobbies are weight training and binge-watch. I’m extremely enthusiastic about marine creatures. My current research direction is to explore the temporal and spatial distribution of multiple species.
-
Research interests: Climate change; species distribution; interspecific interaction
Zhu-Jia Kuo
I graduated from the Department of Atmospheric Science, NCU. I enjoy singing, dancing, learning languages and traveling in my spare time. I had my internship in the lab of marine biogeochemistry, RCEC, Academia Sinica in 2020. My research then was about the effect of Fe concentrations on Coral Symbiodinium at high sea water temperature. After my internship, I fell in love with marine biology. My research now is using stable isotope to analyze the feeding ecology of Pacific saury.
-
Research interests: stable isotope analysis, feeding ecology of Pacific saury
Yun-Wei Chou
I graduated from the Department of Life Sciences in NCHU. I am interested in statistic methods, programming, also their applications to fisheries. My current research topic is about incorporating environmental effects into the stock assessment of Pacific saury (Cololabis saira) to investigate whether climate changes impact their population dynamics.
-
Stock assessment modelling
Ting-Chang Lin
I graduated from the Department of Biomedical Science and Environmental Biology at Kaohsiung Medical University. In my leisure time, I enjoy riding my bike for excursions. During my undergraduate years, my primary focus was on studying biotechnology. However, I later developed an interest in marine biology. I participated in the 2022 Summer Program for College Students at the National Taiwan University's Institute of Oceanography, which inspired me to pursue a master's degree at the Institute of Oceanography. My current research direction involves using satellite tags to investigate the spatial distribution of billfish and the impact of environmental changes on them.
Research interests: Spatial distribution of billfish; impact of climate change

Currently, I am an undergraduate student majoring in forestry and resource conservation. Coding, statistics, sports, and music are a few things I’m interested in. Last semester, I took the Computer Intensive Statistics in Ecology course. At the end of the semester, I wrote a letter to Dr. Yi-Jay Chang, inquiring about possible working opportunities in the lab. That is why I am here!

I graduated from the National Taiwan Ocean University. My master thesis focused on feeding ecology of two hammerhead shark species (Sphyrna lewini & S. zygaena) by using stomach content and stable isotope analysis. Stomach content analysis provides important insight into fish feeding patterns and trophic interactions in aquatic food webs. By the way, I love swimming, baking, traveling and stargazing during my leisure time .
